If your ductwork connects back to a Lennox heat pump or air conditioner, there's a good chance an air handler is doing the quiet work of moving that air through your home. D's Air & Heating installs, repairs, and maintains Lennox air handlers throughout Chicago and the nearby suburbs, and we've done it as a family-owned, authorized Lennox dealer since 2009. Our EPA certified technicians can tell you plainly whether your current air handler is working the way it should, and what your options are if it isn't.

What Sets Us Apart

An air handler isn't usually the star of the system, but who installs and maintains it still matters. Here's what we bring to that job.

Authorized Lennox dealer.

Lennox has certified us to sell, install, and service their equipment directly, and that same authorization extends to Carrier and Green products. Nothing we install is a guess dressed up as a recommendation.

Family-owned since 2009.

We've run this business as a family for more than fifteen years, serving Chicago and its surrounding suburbs the whole time. You'll always be talking to our team, not a dispatch center.

EPA certified technicians.

Every technician on our team holds EPA certification, which matters most with the refrigerant-handling work an air handler often requires.

We let our actual customers do the talking instead of picking our best quotes for the website.

Maintenance agreement perks.

Members get 15% off service calls, move to the front of the line when scheduling gets busy, and get other discounts along the way that non-members don't.

Curious what that looks like in practice? Book Online or call 773-940-0965.

Why an Authorized Lennox dealer Matters

An air handler is only as good as the dealer installing it, and Lennox doesn't hand that title to just anyone. We went through their certification process to become an authorized dealer, which means our training, our parts, and our installs are backed directly by Lennox rather than a workaround. If something goes wrong with a Lennox air handler we installed, you're covered by an actual manufacturer, not just our reputation. Read more on our Lennox dealer advantage page.

Air Handler Repair, Cost & Maintenance FAQ

  • Is D's Air & Heating an authorized Lennox dealer?

Yes, and that status doesn't come automatically. Lennox authorizes dealers directly, which is what lets us install, service, and repair their equipment with full manufacturer support standing behind it. We're also authorized for Carrier and Green equipment, and we've done this work in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs since 2009. See what that means for you.

  • What does an air handler actually do?

An air handler moves air across a heating or cooling coil and pushes it through your ductwork, working alongside your furnace, heat pump, or air conditioner rather than replacing any of them. If yours isn't circulating air well, the rest of your system can't do its job either. Book a service visit if airflow feels off.

  • Why is my air handler blowing weak air?

A clogged filter, a failing blower motor, or blocked ductwork are the usual culprits. It's rarely something that improves on its own, and weak airflow tends to get worse before it gets better. Schedule an air handler repair and we'll find the cause.

  • Why won't my air handler turn on at all?

This is often an electrical issue, a tripped safety switch, or a problem with the thermostat signal rather than the unit itself. Book a repair so we can rule things out and get it running again.

  • Why is my air handler making a loud humming or rattling noise?

Humming often points to a motor or electrical issue, while rattling is more commonly a loose panel or a part working its way free. Either one is worth a look before it turns into a bigger repair. Schedule a repair visit and we'll check it out.

  • How often should an air handler be serviced?

We recommend a professional check once a year, timed around your heating or cooling service visit. Members of our maintenance agreement get this included at a discounted rate. See maintenance agreement details.

  • How much does air handler installation cost in Chicago?

It depends on the size of the unit and how well it needs to match your existing furnace, heat pump, or air conditioner, so pricing varies by home. We'll walk you through a free, itemized estimate before any work starts, and financing is available if you qualify. Book your free estimate.

  • What should I do if my air handler stops working?

Call us or book online and we'll treat it with the same urgency as a no-heat or no-cool emergency, since your air handler is part of what makes either one possible. Our EPA certified technicians will diagnose the issue and recommend the most cost-effective fix.
